About

Situated just off of the N7 on the R304, about 30min from Cape Town and Cape Town International Airport, Philadelphia offers a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.

This quaint town is a great place to relax and unwind on a weekend or  for business travelers ideally located for visits to the city's Northern and Western Suburbs as well as the West Coast.

Established in the 1860’s by farmers not wanting to travel great distances to attend church, our historic little town has managed to retain its charming character.

Many of the original buildings have been converted into restaurants or little shops.

The old post office now houses the charming Karma Chameleon gift shop that also hosts interesting arts and crafts, the general store is now Magic Minerals where you'll find minerals, crystals and gemstones from all over Southern Africa, and the old horse stable is now Pepper Tree restaurant with a fresh health food deli. Here you can enjoy a laid back wholesome meal while sitting under a huge pepper tree and watch weaver birds take turns in the bird bath. Also pay a visit to the Philadelphia Winkel/Shop that boasts with the best milk tarts, pies and other delicatessen.

The small town of Philadelphia offers the perfect getaway with its country hospitality and laid back atmosphere.
